After a previous career as an attorney (1981), Peter gained experience as HR Manager and Director (1989) at a number of leading international companies, most recently at Ahold. At Ahold, he was Senior Director Labour Relations and was responsible for issues such as the relationship between the employer and the trade unions, as well as the relationship with the works councils. He operates in the niche where employment law and labour relations meet and is an experienced negotiator.
Peter has closed a myriad of collective labour agreements and social plans. He has counselled and supported a number of mergers and aquisitions during his HR time and has managed many due diligence projects. He loves complicated issues and is also a non-executive board member of a pension fund.
